Electroencephalogram (EEG), or “brain mapping”, is a safe and noninvasive way to measure the brain’s electrical activity. By placing small sensors on the scalp, we can see patterns in how different areas of the brain are working and communicating. Event-Related Potentials (ERP), a specialized form of EEG, measures in real time how quickly and efficiently the brain responds during simple tasks, giving insight into processing speed, focus, and impulse control.
Brain mapping serves as a powerful diagnostic tool. It provides objective data about brain function rather than relying only on symptoms, helping to clarify underlying patterns contributing to conditions such as ADHD, anxiety, depression, brain injury, or cognitive decline. This information allows us to design personalized neurostimulation plans and also enables us to track measurable progress over time, bringing greater precision and clarity to care
Medication is often selected based on reported symptoms, sometimes through a process of trial and adjustment. At Reset Psychology, we incorporate objective brain data from EEG and ERP testing to better understand underlying patterns of brain activity. When considered alongside what is known about how different medications influence brain function, this information can help guide more informed treatment discussions. We collaborate with your prescribing provider by sharing these findings to support thoughtful, data informed, and individualized decision making.
Neurostimulation helps the brain shift out of inefficient patterns of activity. The brain operates through electrical signals, and sometimes those signals become too fast, too slow, or poorly coordinated. Using gentle, noninvasive stimulation, we target specific networks and guide them toward more balanced rhythms. This can support improvements in attention, mood regulation, anxiety, sleep, and cognitive performance.
The science behind neurostimulation is grounded in neuroplasticity, the brain’s natural ability to change and adapt. With carefully targeted stimulation delivered over time, brain cells adjust how they communicate, allowing more stable and regulated patterns to emerge.
Neurofeedback is a form of brain training that teaches individuals to regulate their own brain activity. Using real time EEG monitoring, the brain receives immediate feedback while it practices shifting toward healthier patterns.
Unlike neurostimulation, which directly influences brain activity through external input, neurofeedback relies on learning. The brain changes through feedback and repetition, strengthening more efficient patterns through active self regulation.
